Rotarians Go To Guatemala

Member of the International Service Committee traveled to Antigua, Guatemala for
the annual UNIENDO America service project fair. This 3-day conference allows
Rotary clubs and NGOs to present their projects and create partnerships. This
project fair featured initiatives in sustainability, clean water, education, affordable
housing, and much more. During the conference, our committee members held
discussions and interviews with the local Roteract club, District 4250 Governor,
and other Rotarians about their initiatives and how this project fair helps them
complete their work.
Ahead of the conference, members of our International Service Committee visited
Lake Atitlán to see firsthand the impact of this lake and the clean water projects that
local Rotary clubs have completed has on the lives of the 400,000 residents, many
of whom live in extreme poverty. Also on this trip, committee members
strengthened their fraternal bond by completing a hike and overnight camp on
Volcan Acatenango.
