Thomas, Bishop DanielThe Most Reverend Daniel E. Thomas will speak on Holy Discipleship, Holy Families, and Holy Vocations. Bishop Thomas was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and served as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia before Pope Francis elevated him to take over the Diocese of Toledo a year ago. Bishop Thomas will be the eighth Roman Catholic bishop of Toledo since its founding in 1910. Before that, it was part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the Diocese of Cincinnati, formed in 1821. Bishop Thomas earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary  and a S.T.L. in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Bishop Thomas is a member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee for Clergy, Consecrated Life, Vocations and the Committee on Divine Worship; The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Task Force Commission on Certification and Accreditation; a member of the Episcopal Advisory Board for the Catholic Leadership Institute; a member of the Ohio Council of Churches, and many more.
