Karen Berman - Toledo Early College High School

Karen Berman is the principal of Toledo Early College, a 7-12th grade academy in Toledo Public Schools. She began her tenure at the school in February 2016.  Prior to this assignment, Mrs. Berman worked for the district in numerous capacities including Assistant Principal at Morrison R. Waite High School, Curriculum Director for English Language Arts and the ESL program, and she also taught high school English.

She is a proud alumna of DeVilbiss High School class of 1984. She obtained received a B.A. in English, a master’s degree in education from the University of Toledo. She also completed the Principal’s Licensure program at the University of Toledo and other post graduate work at the University of Findlay.

She has been married for over 31 years.  They have a son who resides in Washington D.C.  She is an avid gardener and she also enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family, friends and her two dogs.

Toledo Early College  (TEC),  located on The University of Toledo’s Scott Park Campus is an academy in Toledo Public Schools. The school serves students in grades 7 through 12 and is a college preparatory program that focuses on the liberal arts. The school’s curriculum is designed to accelerate students into college courses at the University of Toledo.
