Lis and Mark will explore how urban renewal resulted in the redevelopment of the heart of downtown Toledo, resulting in the construction of the Fiberglass Tower and then how the Tower is being reborn as Tower on the Maumee. A mixed use development for residential and office tenants with a first floor retail/restaurant amenity to serve the building and greater downtown.

Lis has over 30 years experience in architecture and historic preservation encompassing a wide range of adaptive use and urban infill projects. She has extensive experience in crafting development strategies that enrich local communities while facilitating the rehabilitation of historic buildings and the revitalization of neighborhoods in the City of Detroit. Lis is an expert in state and federal historic tax credit programs and has assisted clients in designing projects that meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
