Vice President - Adam Cassi
My Rotary journey began in 2019 when I was invited to present to the Toledo Rotary Club. I remember looking out and seeing many familiar faces, people who were already deeply invested in our community. It wasn’t long before several of them convinced me to join, and even before I had officially paid my dues, I found myself jumping in and serving on the Community Service Committee. I quickly became Vice Chair, but soon made the switch over to the Environmental Committee, which aligned better with my passion and professional background. I transitioned to Chair of the Environmental Committee, a role I held from 2022 to 2024. In 2024 I then joined the Toledo Rotary Board, where I continue to serve today and fill the role of Board Liaison to the Environmental Committee. In addition to my club responsibilities, I have served as the District 6600 Environmental Chair since September 2024. In this capacity, I have built relationships with clubs across the district, collaborated closely with district leadership, and helped launch a multi-district partnership with other Rotary districts around the Great Lakes, an initiative that reflects Rotary’s ability to unite people across borders for meaningful impact. My professional background in nonprofit leadership gives me a deep appreciation for Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self.” I have spent my career working to strengthen communities, build partnerships, manage grants, and deliver measurable outcomes. These experiences have shaped my belief that Rotary thrives when we stay closely connected to the needs of our community and remain focused on creating lasting, visible impact. I look forward to continuing my leadership journey in the Toledo Rotary Club. It would be an honor to serve as Vice President and, ultimately, as President, helping guide our club into its next chapter of service, innovation, and community engagement.
Board of Director Nominee - Julia Hage
As a Toledoan, born and raised, I have experienced what is possible when community leaders come together to create positive impact. Through shared vision, effective communication, and genuine shared interest, incredible strides can be taken to enhance the community in which we live, serve, and thrive. Engaging in the Rotary Club of Toledo over the last three years has meant experiencing one of our community’s largest contributing organizations, and one of the largest impactful Rotaries internationally. Through this, I have been amazed by the good generated from humble partnership and purposeful missions. Enhancing my Rotary servitude, I have been grateful to learn and lead on the Strategic Planning Committee (‘23-’24), as Chair of Disability Services Committee (‘24-’25), and as Chair of Program Committee (‘25-’26). The ability to leave titles and personal agendas at the door, to collaborate as humans of servitude, and ensure our focus matches the needs of the community, I have learned wholeheartedly what servant leadership looks like. Holding each other accountable in leadership and partnership to stay grounded in 1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? And last but certainly not least, 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned? We are able to be stewards in the process of being the solutions in a world of disrupt. When Rotarians come together, positive progress can be made. When one of us wins, we all win. When we support each other, our community grows stronger, and our future is brighter. I hold this Board candidacy with deep gratitude, as representing our Rotary means representing the expansive community that relies on our work. I feel my personal mission of serving with authenticity, to create positive impact with dignity and respect will continue to align with the evolution of focus areas within Rotary Club of Toledo. Thank you for your consideration.
Board of Director Nominee - Jane Marie Rahe
As an active Rotary member since 2016, I have proudly served on various committees and participated in numerous opportunities to give back to the community through “Service Above Self” initiatives, volunteer events, Coffee Connections, and Book Club activities. This year, I had the privilege of stepping into a temporary Director role, an experience that allowed me to learn from outstanding Rotarians and uphold the principles of the Four-Way Test. If elected to the board for a full term, I will approach the role with gratitude and a commitment to steward time and resources responsibly. I am a graduate of the University of Toledo and hold an MBA from the University of Findlay. For the past twenty years, I have dedicated my career to assisting business owners, families, and corporate executives as a Wealth Management Advisor at Fifth Third Private Wealth. As I transition from decades spent on the baseball field to an empty-nest chapter, I look forward to deepening my engagement with Rotary. My previous community leadership includes serving as President of JDRF and contributing to organizations such as Junior Achievement, Promedica Foundation, UF Business Advisor Group, Findlay-Hancock Community Foundation, University of Toledo Alumni Foundation, and Women in Philanthropy.
Board of Director Nominee - Emily Zarecki
I am incredibly honored to have been nominated to serve on the Rotary Club of Toledo’s board for the 2026-2029 term. When I first started my public relations and communications consulting business in 2022, I was keenly aware that I lacked a broad network of professional peers. I had friends and colleagues from past employers. But I felt a void. Scanning LinkedIn, I discovered two acquaintances were members of the Rotary Club of Toledo. I wasn’t unfamiliar with Rotary, but my understanding of it was limited. I reached out to Sierra Hutton and asked about her involvement in Rotary. Her enthusiasm for the Club was palpable to say the least! Sierra invited me to attend a meeting, and I was hooked. The energy in the room was captivating. After joining the Rotary Club of Toledo in 2023, I quickly got involved in the Membership Committee. Last year, I was asked to co-lead the Membership Committee alongside Dr. Shanda Gore. I have also led our public image initiatives. It’s an honor to utilize my professional skills to help tell the story of the Rotary Club of Toledo to our community. Each week, I invite the media to attend our Monday meetings to interview our guest speaker and our members. I also invite the media to our Service Above Self Days and other community activities. Being part of the Rotary Club of Toledo has far surpassed my expectations. While I was seeking a broader network, I’ve gained so much more. I’ve found incredibly genuine friendships, meaningful involvement in our club, and a deeper connection to serving our community. I’m proud to be part of this organization that truly invests in Toledo. I’m excited to contribute to our board and help advance the priority areas identified in our strategic plan as we continue to strengthen our impact in the Toledo community.
